About Us (draft)
About Us (draft)
Note: Since this idea just kinda hit, the community is small, but I have a sense that there's potential for membership to explode, If we're going to keep this useful and somewhat focused as a community site for people to be successful at pushing things forward, we should probably have some guidelines. My wife is in a 4-year-strong Meetup.com community for stay-at-home moms. They have 240 moms in the metro-Chicago area, and some pretty strong membership guidelines. - aes

Who are we?
We pride ourselves on being a community of mamas who appreciate the philosophies of extended breastfeeding, intuitive parenting, cloth diapering, child-led potty training, baby-wearing, and co-sleeping. We are an active social meetup group with a full calendar of events and a supporting messageboard. Who are we not? We are not an an offshoot of HipMama.com although we don't mind the flavor the association adds. We are not exclusively an online community. Who can you expect to meet? You'll find an eclectic collection of personalities inside Chicago Hip Mama. We include Mamas all over Chicago. The Rules
  1. We strive to keep this group active, and full of interested people.  "Active" membership includes attending one event and/or posting on the Message Board at least once a month.
  2. Business solicitations are not encouraged, but we do offer a Message Board thread where you can post your marketable skills for trade or barter. Do NOT privately e-mail members about your business, unless specifically requested by an individual member. This is a terminable offense, if abused.
